Ayurveda is often thought of as the diet of yoga, but in actuality, it encompasses a great deal more than that one aspect. More accurately, Ayurveda is the traditional Yogic system of medicine that deals with physical and psychological disease and focuses on the treatment. It is a vast area of study that would take years (or decades) to fully comprehend, but we can make great strides if we can better understand who we are as individuals.
During ayurvedic consultation we will do a basic assessment to identify your doshas (constitution) and discuss how certain foods, supplements and lifestyle choices can promote a better overall health for your unique make-up. Understanding these concepts as they apply to you is an important step in any healthcare plan, and it is an essential element of Yogic healing.
